“A unique and engaging voice…
emotionally sincere and honest…
When you’re an artist as passionate as Collins clearly is,
you probably have no choice but to let the world hear
everything you have to say.”

A passion for emotions and intimacy, folk and rock
LICITY COLLINS' DEBUT RELEASE ONE GIRL TOWN is a testimony to the emotions that drive human relationships. Praised by FoxNews.com (yep, that’s right) as “lyrical, intense, intimate and relatable, a diary into Collins' mind that listeners may see as a mirror into their own lives” the genre-blending album has been embraced by both folk and rock radio programs. Creating a sonic experience of both intimacy and bravado, Licity’s sound is a refreshing unique experience that both cradles and challenges its listeners.
LICITY OFFERS THE OPEN DIARY as an intimate companion to her music. Grief Out Loud celebrated the writing as "Totally moving. Extremely powerful." Transcending the pitfalls of social media, The Open Diary lays bare the intimate and sometimes excruciating details of Licity’s life to its readers, creating a genuine connection.
“I believe that facing emotions is a beautiful, courageous act—the only way to heal the world. Folk music gives us the language to define our inner and outer dilemmas. Rock gives us the grit we need to transform them. Diaries reveal the intimate details of our attempts. My music and diary are a passionate “thank you” to the sounds and words that saved me and a petition for us all to fearlessly embrace our emotions.”
Prior to releasing ONE GIRL TOWN Licity created interactive installation, assemblage, and performance art. Her trailblazing work received international gallery and media attention. She co-founded and designed award-winning sets for boundary-pushing consensus-based theatre company, and created a national model for using theatre in women’s prisons. It’s always been music, though—Licity grew up in the cello section of the orchestra, and performed choral music ranging eight different languages, spanning most of her life, recording her very first album with her fourth grade chorus. After stints in Washington DC, Providence, Chicago and Portland, Licity is currently based in Ojai, California.

Unique challenges faced the making of ONE GIRL TOWN. An historic fire encircled Licity's town forcing her to re-mix the record while evacuated to three different locations. That was just a few months after Licity downsized into a 9x19 foot "tiny house" like structure with no plumbing. Then, Licity's mother died four hours before the final album files were completed, the day the media outreach was to begin. Released two months after Licity's 46th birthday, ONE GIRL TOWN is a testimony to the determination and resilience of the human heart.

THE OPEN DIARY
"Totally moving. Extremely powerful." —Grief Out Loud Podcast
THE OPEN DIARY is an intimate companion to Licity's music. Begun during a painful production roadblock Licity’s diary takes the reader on a deeply personal journey through unexpected trials and delights. From building her composting toilet for her new single-room home with no plumbing, to the historic Thomas fire surrounding her small town, to the death of her mother, followed soon after by the release of her greatest labor of love—her debut album. Inspired by the Journals of May Sarton and the Diaries of Anais Nin, and even Jim Bouton's Ball Four, Licity lays bare her life in real time, in a delectable way.
