"My Secret Life in Hut Six" (her's not mine)
This book is sooooooo good. One of my most favorite reads ever. I was on a WWII history dive and got really into the stories of the people at Blechley park, where they broke the German codes and started the real use of "intelligence" as a war strategy. It's the story of one of the "codebreakers" women who worked at Bletchley Park. It's so simple
It's so simple and humble and real. She kept her secret of working there for years and years and years and finally as a much older woman her son convinced her to let him share her journals and stories. It's a wonderfully matter-of-fact look inside a remarkable place and time.
