Arcellus Sykes is a Portland, Oregon-based bassist working across jazz, rock, pop, R&B, and world music. With a degree in music and world-class ears honed through countless recording sessions and performances, he brings versatility and groove sensitivity to every project. His credits include Grammy-winning and -nominated artists such as M. Ward, Aaron Nigel Smith and Tia Sillers, as well as collaborations with Portland legends like Ural Thomas and the Pain and Tezeta Band. He's performed at world-class venues including Red Rocks, Washington Square Park (NYC), and Club Paradiso (Amsterdam), along with beloved local stages like Revolution Hall, the Aladdin Theater and Mississippi Studios.
